I’ve been knitting a lot. I must be nervous.

If you know me, you’ll know one of my most attractive and heart-warming traits is my obsessive nature. My friends would disagree, but hey, they’re not the ones writing. Pah.

But anyway, I do indeed get obsessed with things I like. And boy, do I love knitting. I love the repetition, the endless hours watching whatever I’m making grow and the yarn getting smaller, until I can bind off and, standing on top of a chair, yell “I’m the Queen of Knitted Garments!”
Well… ok, there’s no shouting, but there might be a smug smile on my face.

Knitting is also something I love doing whenever I feel nervous and need an outlet. This also means I might get the urge to knit at the most inconvenient times, such as: 4 am, when I should be sleeping because I need to get up early; when I have a deadline for a commissioned work and I am afflicted by a pesky dose of insecurity; when there’s house chores to be done. Et cetera.

It seems I’ve been nervous very often lately, because the amount of FOs (that’s Finished Objects, for you non-knitter heathens out there) is just a wee bit large for someone who claims she has no free time… Some of the photos were taken before I’d finished the items. Will take new ones soon.

I also joined Ravelry, another knitting forum thing to further enable me to continue in this lovely path of obsession. Oh dear.

Leg warmers. How 80s of me.

They keep my legs warm, too

Penguin jumpers. Google it if you don't know what I'm talking about. These are both finished, but I need more photos

My first experience with two balls of yarn. Nailed it (for the most part)

      • I find that with felting and kumihimo, repetitive stuff is meditation in itself I guess 🙂 I’ll be onto the link you sent me today, got lots of bits outside to do today 🙂 hope you have a fab day at the day job and hope the complicated things are resolved quickly although I do love your knitting antics 😉 ❤️

  1. Hurrah for knitting therapy!! 🙂 So glad you’re throwing yourself into it so thoroughly! What is probably most impressive is that you finish your objects – so many knitters start lots and have trouble finishing. Your leg warmers look great!

    • Oh thanks, Debbie! I had no idea finishing was an issue. I wonder why? My next project might be a sock with an afterthought heel, wish me luck 😀
